Police are refreshing an appeal for witnesses and information following the death of a cyclist last month in Borehamwood. Officers were called to a report of a 47-year-old man, who had been riding an e-bike, lying on a grass verge on Rowley Lane at 4.25pm on Tuesday 13 January. He showed no sign of any injuries and went home. However, he was later taken to hospital and found to have broken bones. On Friday 16 January, he sadly died in hospital. One month on from the incident, detectives within the Hertsmere CID who are investigating are re-appealing to anyone who might have information about what happened which led to his tragic death. Detective Sergeant Colin Knowles from Hertsmere CID said: “As we are now a month on from this incident, we would like to refresh our appeal to the public, we would like to hear from anyone who might have any information no matter how small or big, which could help our investigation, and bring closure to the man’s family. “I am keen to hear from anyone driving in Rowley Lane between 4.15pm and 4.45pm on 13 January, who may have seen the cyclist, so we can establish exactly how he received his injuries, which later proved fatal. “I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone with a dash cam and who was driving in the area at the time in case they recorded any important footage. If you captured anything, please upload this via https://upload.5fdams.aetopia.net?ref=NNM7T3. “This may seem like a long time ago, but I want people to try their hardest to cast their mind back to this day, and if they remember anything at all, report this to police.” You can also report any information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 477 of 13 January.
Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. | ||
